Shambles!

When my life is in shambles like it currently seems to be: trying to sublease our townhome, fixing our closet as the shelves bowed and the clothes are on the floor, trying to evaluate home inspections and waiting to find out if our dream home will be ours, I AM SO GLAD I HAVE THIS MAN BY MY SIDE :)

Fingers Crossed!

Wow, I feel like Tyler and I probably should have tried out for HGTV's Property Virgins. I definitely feel like we're a part of the show. We have been looking for our first place for about a month now. It has proven to be a long and somewhat stressful process. We are excited to find the one! We currently have an offer on a sweet older home we both love, and are now just waiting to find out if it's ours! Here's hoping!

Tonight I am looking forward to a date night--in. Tyler is preparing a yummy meal as I write! It's so interesting how Valentine's celebrations change over the years. We are looking forward to a relaxing evening at home enjoying each others company. I am daily blessed by our relationship and our love that continues to grow. I hope you are all celebrating love of all kinds: among sweet friends, family, and those we hold dear!

Sometimes I get so wrapped up in the big things in life that I so easily forget the happiest, little moments. This precious photo is from our freshman year. This was no extraordinary night, just one that will forever be in my heart :) This photo captures the sheer joy we were all experiencing in that moment, having a blast with dear, dear friends! Rain Keeps Falling

As I write, I hear rain drops hitting the ground outside. Sometimes there is nothing quite as peaceful and comforting as hearing the rain as I'm cozied up inside :)

The Hole

I have been challenged and blessed by the messages at Riverpointe lately. In our awesome home team, we are going through the book, The Hole in our Gospel. It tells the story about a CEO turned missionary and his journey to understanding the Gospel. The author really reflects on how modern Christianity has turned into the quest to get that ticket to heaven. Instead, the book talks about how Jesus intended for the Gospel to be part of our daily existence, that rather than just sharing the good news, we are called to be the good news. What a profound statement!

Patrick also talked about how so often we want God's blessings without wanting His control in our lives. Human nature teaches us to hold back from this kind of surrender because of fears, ambitions, and losing the sense of control in our lives. I have really reflected on these teachings lately and assessed that any reason I have to hold back could never justify withholding from the perfect plan God has for my life!
